In the spring of 2012, the Seventh Street Coffee, Inc. not-for-profit was formed for the purpose of purchasing Katie’s Cup from ZION Development. Katie's Cup is named after Katharina Luther, the wife of Martin Luther –the famous Protestant Reformer. Calvary Baptist Church on Linden Road in Rockford, IL, is opening a Pre-K - 12th grade extended-year school for the 2024/2025 school year. We will have traditional subjects taught in the classroom, along with debate, gardening, home economics, journaling, quarterly community service projects, and STEM.How the school will be different from other private schools in the area is, while we are a traditional school, we will be offering what we call an Extended Year. The following is how the extended year will work:Once the traditional school year is completed at the end of May, the extended year will begin in June. The academic focus will be reading, math, and science. Students will participate in fun group science projects, a summer reading program, math games, outdoor activities, and field trips. Vacation days are scheduled during the summer.The cost of the extended year is included in each student's tuition fee.The extended school year is two-fold. Rockford Rage is a roller derby league based in Rockford, Illinois. Founded in 2006, the league consisted of two teams which competed against teams from other leagues. The league was founded in mid-2006, and played its first bout in December: an interleague contest between the Demolition Dolls and the Screw City Slammers, teams which have since been disbanded. The bout attracted 650 fans. In 2009, the league attracted attention for its abandonment of smoking breaks. Rockford was accepted into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Program in September 2009, and became a full member of the WFTDA in June 2010.The Rockford Rage will be hosting home bouts for the 2018 season at the UW Sports Factory located in downtown Rockford.

Stronghold Center is a four-season retreat and camping center, operated by the Presbytery of Blackhawk, Presbyterian Church (USA). The League of Women Voters of Rockford was established in 1922 just after the formation of the LWV of the United States. Among the founders of Rockford's League was Julia Lathrop, a woman suffragist and founder of both the national and Illinois League of Women Voters. As early as 1926 when a discrepancy was found in the counting of votes, the League brought about the implementation of training for local election judges, a practice which continues today. Originally named the LWV of Winnebago County, the name was changed to LWV of Rockford in 1953 and to LWV of Greater Rockford in 1998.

In March 1981, four Rockford women met to discuss how women in the Rock River Region could join forces in support of other women. From this meeting, the concept of the Rockford Network of Professional Women (RNPW) evolved. Those four women were Mildred Berry, Barbara Chapman, Marcella Harris, and Jeanine Wortmann. Weekly organizational meetings were held with attendance increasing steadily. Standing rules were formulated and the Rockford Network of Professional Women became official in June 1981. RNPW Purpose To encourage women to attain leadership roles in the immediate and expanded community and to provide the preparatory training and the support that wil enable them to perform effectively. To provide an appropriate and needed forum for corporate and professional women to give and seek help in the advancement of their careers. To provide job-related support. To develop an information base for civic, professional, and personal pursuits.

Forest Preserve of Winnebago County Working closely with the Nature Center, the Forest Preserve District maintains the physical property and facilities, including the Nature Center. Primetime Audio Video was originally called Stateline Satellite, a distributor & installer of Dish Network & DirecTV Satellite TV services, when we first opened our doors almost 20 years ago. The business took off quickly, and people were so impressed with the quality of our work, that they started requesting us to sell & install all of their Audio/Video equipment for them. Well, being the passionate home entertainment geeks that we are, that sounded like a great idea. So we added tons of space – stocked the store with the coolest brands – and re-opened as Primetime Audio Video, and the rest, as they say, is History!
